Kenneth L. Rasmussen, 85, of Ord formerly of Burwell passed away Wednesday, September 5, 2012, at the Valley View Living Center in Ord.
Mr. Rasmussen’s wishes were to be cremated. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, September 10, 2012 at the Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church in Ord. The Reverend Glenda Pearson will officiate. Inurnment will be in the Ord City Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Bethany Lutheran Church or Valley County Health System Foundation. Ord Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Kenneth Lyle was born February 10, 1927, in Valley County, Nebraska to Peter and Marie (Hansen) Rasmussen. He was raised in Valley County and received his education in the Ord Public Schools.
Kenneth was in the service during the Korean War. He was stationed in the United States and was trained as a cook. Kenneth spent most of his life farming. While on the farm, he enjoyed and shared many wonderful memories with his nieces and nephews who would visit every summer.
On April 21, 1973, Kenneth was united in marriage to Margaret Scott at the Bethany Lutheran Church in Ord, NE. The couple first lived in the North Loup area and then moved to Burwell. Mrs. Rasmussen passed away July 26, 2012.
Survivors include two sisters, Clara Wolfe and Charlotte Kanwischer; three step sons, Orville, Gerald and David Scott; 27 step-grandchildren and 7 step-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife, Margaret.
