Marian K Bailey, 88, of Geneva, passed away on Friday September 14, 2012 in Ord Nebraska.
Marian was born to John C. and Sarah Blanche Kroll on November 8, 1923 in Helvey, Nebraska. She graduated from Geneva High School in 1941. After graduation she taught grades 1-8 in a one room school in Martland, Nebraska. After a year of teaching she started her banking career with the Geneva State Bank. She worked for the Geneva State Bank from 1942-1946. Marian married Robert T. Bailey of Geneva in April of 1946. Marian and Bob started a family of three in 1948. After raising her family she returned to the bank in 1969 and retired on December 31, 1988. She was a lifelong member of the First Congregational Church in Geneva.
Marian was preceded in death by her husband Robert T. Bailey; her parents, John C. and Sarah Blanche Kroll; by two sisters Carol Kroll and Blanche Shaner, and a son Robert J. Bailey.
She is survived by son Britton Bailey and wife Barbara of Lincoln; granddaughter Sarah Bailey of Aurora; daughter Sara Andreesen and husband James of Ord; granddaughter Bailey Andreesen of Lincoln; grandson Nathan Andreesen and wife Nicole of Omaha; brother Charles Kroll and wife Sally of Littleton, CO; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Memorial service: 11:00 am Wednesday, September 26 at United Church of Christ, Geneva, NE following a private graveside service. Memorials to the Geneva First Congregational Church, House of Hope Haiti or Prairie Plains Resource Institute. Farmer & Son Funeral Home (Geneva) and Ord Memorial Chapel (Ord) handling arrangements.
