The following is a listing of Nebraska Game and Parks Commission events and important dates in September:

Sept. 1 – Hunting seasons open for grouse, raccoon, Virginia opossum, cottontail, jackrabbit, dove (mourning, white-winged and Eurasian collared), snipe, and Virginia and sora rail

Sept. 8 – Early teal hunting season opens

Sept. 15 – Muzzle loader antelope hunting season opens

Sept. 15 – Statewide fall turkey hunting season opens

Sept. 15 – Archery, Mule Deer Conservation Area, Season Choice, River Antler less, Youth, Landowner and Statewide Whitetail Buck deer hunting opens

Sept. 22 – Woodcock hunting season opens

Sept. 29 – Antique Appraisal Fair, Fort Hartsuff SHP, Burwell, 308-346-4715

Sept. 29 – Bull and antler less elk hunting seasons open

Sept. 29 – Nebraska High School Small Bore Rifle Silhouette Championship, Pressey Wildlife Management Area, Broken Bow, 308-872-2348
