Valley County Health System was tickled pink to host a company-wide wear pink day, in support of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Thank you to all the VCHS associates and residents from VCHS and VVLC who participated in our pink day, October 23, 2012.
October is about raising awareness for breast cancer. While most people are aware of breast cancer, many forget to take the steps to have a plan to detect the disease in its early stages.
The statistics around this disease are staggering — About 1 in 8 U.S. women will develop invasive breast cancer over the course of her lifetime. However, with early detection and late-breaking medical treatment, we can fight back effectively.
