ORD, Neb. - A nice crowd attended the open house and business after hours that were held on June 24 for Jane Meyer, Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN-NP). Jane joined the VCHS medical staff on June 15. She joins other mid-level practitioners and is seeing patients at Ord Family Health Center.
Jane received her Master of Science in Nursing in May 2008 and then earned her APRN license. Most recently she was employed at Internal Medicine Associates in North Platte.
She is proficient in the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and management of common acute and chronic health conditions across the lifespan. Jane also has experience working in the emergency
department and in critical access hospitals.
A nurse practitioner is a registered nurse who has completed advanced education and training in specialty areas and diagnosis and management of most common disorders.
They can diagnose, treat and monitor most illnesses, injuries, infections and chronic diseases. Nurse practitioners can also take medical histories; perform physicals; order, interpret and report lab results, X-rays, EKGs and much more.
Jane and her husband, Brian, have moved to Ord with their three sons: Kelen, 6; Hunter, 5; and Colt, 23 months.
