ORD, Neb. - The Ord Area Chamber's 2009 Summer Marketing Campaign has received fantastic photo submissions for the May and June photo contests. All photos that are submitted during the summer-long marketing campaign will be used in the Chamber's various marketing efforts to assist in the promotion of our beautiful area and progressive communities. First place and runner up submissions have received $200 and$100 in ChamberBucks respectively, with another $900 to be awarded over the next three months.
The theme for May's contest was "Wildlife Watching Extravaganza." Eight photos were submitted and a total of 192 votes were cast. The winners of June's contest were Jon Blaha with his first place photo, Ducks at Sunset: Elyria, NE. The second place winner was Jeff Boilesen with
his photo, Beehive: Mira Creek by North Loup.
June's photo contest, "Celebrate Our Area Rivers," also had outstanding results with ten photo submissions and a total of 165 votes. The first place winner of June's photo contest was Kris Lech with her photo, Moon over North Loup River. The second place photo, Blue Heron on the North Loup River, was taken by Jeff Boilesen. 
For those of you who want to get an early start on July's contest, the theme is "The Hidden Gems of Valley County: Unique or Interesting Places Off the Beaten Path." The deadline for photo submissions is Friday, July 24, 2009 at 5:00 pm. Voting will take place the following week until Friday, July 31, 2009 at 5:00 pm.
