University of Nebraska–Lincoln Extension is offering several lawn and garden programs this spring that are open to the general public and part of the University of Nebraska–Lincoln Extension Master Gardener training program. All programs will be held free of charge, Tuesday evenings, February 14th – March 20th from 6:30-9:00 p.m. at the Valley County Extension Office on the fairgrounds in Ord. In the case of inclement weather, please contact the Extension Office at 308-728-5071. Pre-registration is requested, but participants are also welcome to register at the door.
If you’ve been browsing through seed catalogs and planning for spring, you may want to attend the first session, February 14, to learn about the growth and production of various vegetable crops, while comparing various pest control measures for effective control. This class will discuss how plant selection, growing environment, production levels, and pest control are dependent on each other throughout the growing season. The session presenter will be Sarah Browning, Lancaster County Extension Educator.
Remember, to preregister or to check the status of the class in case of inclement weather, call 728-5071.
