Area Memorial Day Celebrations

In the Ord area, the Avenue of Flags are up until 4:00pm. There are presently 225 flags so all help will be appreciated taking the flags down at that time. The Memorial Day service will be on the East side of the Ord Cemetary at 10:30am. The invocation will be given by Rev. Greg Barnes. The speaker for the event will be Col. Dave Scheideler. The VFW, American Legion and Auxiliaries and Son’s of the American Legion Color Guards will participate and the Ord Band will play.

The Greeley American Legion will be again holding it’s Memorial Day program at the Greeley Cemetary at 10:00am. SSGT Austin Behnk will be the speaker. A list of area men and women currently serving will be read.

The Burwell Memorial Day services will be held at Cottonwood Cemetary at 10:30am. Volunteers will be needed to take the flags down at 5:00pm.

The Scotial Memorial Day services will be held at 9:30am at Mount Hope Cemetary.
