John Oldson’s preliminary hearing was continued today, April 20, 2012, due to Attorney Glen Clark being rushed to the hospital last night with chest pains and high blood pressure. Prosecutor Cory O’Brien of the Nebraska Attorney Generals office was on hand to ask for the continuance. Oldson’s attorney James Mowbray of Lincoln tried to stop the continuance due to the hardship of Oldson’s mother and wife for their travel to Nebraska. Judge Alan Brodbeck agreed to the continuance which will be April 26th at 9:30 am.
45 year old Oldson is the prime suspect in the murder Case of Cathy Beard, who disappeared May 31, 1989 and whose skeletal remains were found outside of Ord NE in April 1992. Oldson will still be held at the Valley County jail on $1,000,000.00 bail.

it is very obious how little the press research and check there facts and check what they publish to the public, it is the mis-truths and half-truths that are often the cause of a lot of heart ache to the families caught up in all of these events. the mis-truth that i am talking about is the report of minnie as john’s wife as she is not and hasn’t been for some time, as minor as this may seem maybe we should think about what other so called truths that they may also got wrong.
I don’t recall them giving the name of his wife, but thought that all reports said he is currently married. Is he currently married or not?
yes ,he is married and the report yesterday did mention his ex-wife by name or nick-name but as we see now they have removed the name which although not saying it they have have admitted their lack of research ability i know first hand that he is currantly married and that this whole ordeal is a physical and emotional drain to her and family members who know them.
lets just get him convicted and get this whole thing over with so cathy’s family can have some piece!!!!
I personally know him. Not as John but as Jack. And he always kept saying there was something wrong with my sister and he was in prison with my ex stepdad only he would not tell us what he did to get in prison before. Well needless to say now we know. But i never liked him, and hope for some peace for Cathy’s family, as well as anybody else that needs this peace from him
