Dodgers improve to 5-1 sweeping county line rivalry

The Sandhill’s Dodgers swept a pair of games Sunday from the Ord Cubs by scores of 10-0 and 10-0. In the first game, the Dodgers were led by Matt Stachura at the plate who went 2-2 (single, home run) and scored 4 runs for the Dodgers. Matt also pitched 5 complete innings, giving up 2 hits, 2 walks, and striking out 8. Jeff Fauss came in the 6th inning for the save.

In game 2, Dodger player Derek Leth was blistering hot, going 3-3 (2 doubles, triple) with 2 RBIs and scoring 3 runs, while Jordan Moody also went 3-3 (3 singles) with 2 RBIs and scored 2 runs. Todd Stachura pitched a complete 5-inning, no-hit shutout. Todd struck out 14 batters with one hit batsman.

On Sunday, May 30th, the Dodgers will be in action against the Cairo Camels. First game will start at 1:00 p.m. in Cairo.

Editor’s note: The Dodgers improved to 5-1 on the season. The Cubs fell to 0-6 following the sweep by Sandhills and a sweep the day before by York. The Cubs travel to Kearney for a doubleheader against the Crusaders at 1 pm Sunday, May 30th at 1 pm.
