Fire North Of Bartlett Blackens More Than 1000 Acres

A fire has blackened more than 1,000 acres

of prairie land north of Bartlett.

The fire began about noon

Thursday and was extinguished around 5 p.m.

No buildings were damaged and no injuries were reported.

Fire officials suspect the blaze began after winds fanned a

spark from a managed burn.

Fire crews from 11 departments fought the flames.
