The Loup City sixth grade students submitted a video to the NFL-supported Fuel Up For 60 program prior to Christmas 2011. This was a healthy food challenge, and their video featured the students preparing a healthier version of Czarnina (Char-nina), a popular Polish soup made in the community. They were notified recently that their video was selected as the Nebraska winner. The students will attend an awards summit on March 15th in Lincoln, NE. They will have breakfast at the Cornhusker training table, tour Memorial Stadium, and meet Nebraska Cornhusker student athletes. An NFL player may be coming to the Loup City School in May as well.
