The Ord mayor and city council members may have a new home. Dale Zadina addressed the council at this month’s regular meeting, and offered the Presbyterian Church to the city. The city would buy the building, and Zadina would give the city the funds for the purchase. Possession would have to be after the church sells the contents of the building, but Zadina would like the deal to be done in 2011, and also wants an assurance that the city would use the building as a city hall or for other city functions. The council approved the motion to purchase the building 6-0.
The council also approved a Class I liquor license to Valley Cinema. Owner’s of a nuisance property at 315 N 16th St. will be sent a letter giving them ten days to tear down the property. The council tabled the Valley County request to increase fee’s for communications agrement.
Mayor Goldfish accepted with regret the resignation of longtime council member Leon Buth Koehlmoos. Koehlmoos said he will miss the council but had to step down due to health concerns, and joked he was voted out by his family 7-1.
