Ord high schools is searching for a new head boys basketball coach after the resignation of coach Mike Bechtold. Bechtold has taught and coached at Ord for the past 19 years. He is the Technology Coordinator for the District and the golf coach. Bechtold spoke with KNLV saying his reason for resigning, “I felt like the kid’s needed a new chance. You know we kind of had a poor season this year and I think it’s important for the kid’s to be able to look forward to something. I think a new coach does that. That was kind of one of my biggest reasons. Maybe later on I’ll get back into it.” Bechtold had been head basketball coach for three years.
