A Rockville man is now behind bars in Valley County for sexually assaulting a minor, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, and Procuring alcohol to a minor. 41 year old Eric Reed has a prior conviction in Maine for manslaughter was arrested on Monday, February 20, 2012 for Sherman County. Bond was set at 10% of $150,000.00. Reed is still in the Valley County jail as of Tuesday. At this time the case is still under investigation according to Sherman County Sheriff Mike Janulewicz.
Reed was sentenced to 15 years for the 1993 manslaughter conviction after he confessed to smothering his 7 month old son Alexander McKenny while he was caring for the boy in his mother’s Brunswick, ME apartment. He served from June 1995 to July 2004 at Warren State Prison according to a Warren State prison representative. At the time of the baby’s death in 1989, Reed told police he had awakened to find the baby had stopped breathing. Police suspected Reed at the time of the baby’s death but dropped the investigation after the death was attributed to SIDS. Reed had moved to California, married and had another son. He confessed later saying he could not live with himself.
What does bring this man’s past up have to do with why he was arrested now? Are guys trying to convict him before he is charged with a crime?

I dont feel this guy is getting a fair chance here with a head line like that. When that has Nothing to do with why he is in jail. He is not in jail for manslaughter so why would the news print that?

With head lines like this no one gets a fair trial.. It seems like their or morons out there that read something and they are ready to convict before one stands trial for anything. So far No charges have even been brought against him yet. Stop Judging for it’s not your place to Judge.. Only God can judge.

It seems like your trying to convict him yourself.. Do you know this man? Do you know the So called Victim? All you know is what you read in a head line of journalism. One can not convict one of their past. Maybe take a good look at the so called victim.. Who cant keep her legs closed to boys and is 10 1/2 weeks pregnant to boot and will be dragging 3 boys in for dna and JL a 38 yr old in as well for DNA testing to see who is the father of the child even though her parents what her to abort it even though she is 18 and its her choice on to keep it or not. If she Aborts than she is a murderer in God’s eyes and mine too. So now judge her! Is she a town tramp? Is she the one that cries wolf for fun and attention?
By the way Jeri I am pretty sure that you didn’t hear this story on the radio station way up there in Fergus Falls, MN. I’m even sure that it wasn’t even in the news up there. So here you are talkin trash only cause of a head line that talks about his past that has nothing to do with a 10 1/2 week pregnant girl crying rape to throw her parents off her tail of who the father really is. How about “eye for an eye” or “do unto others?” I don’t care what you say, after smothering his own son, why is he out in public anyway? You defend him as if he is defensible in the first place.
