Valley County Young Leaders Eligible for Scholarship

Posted by Johnnie James On September - 25 - 2012

(Ord, NE) – The Valley County Community Foundation Fund (VCCFF) would like to invite local leaders who are passionate about the future of Valley County to participate in an upcoming young adult leadership summit. The annual Connecting Young Nebraskans Summit goals are to engage young Nebraskans and give them an opportunity to meet peers from across the state.

Connecting Young Nebraskans (CYN) is a network of emerging leaders who are living in Nebraska. The network strives to encourage a forward-looking organization that provides opportunities to shape the state’s future by sharing knowledge, insights and desires. CYN opens a new avenue to encourage and support the participation of those under 40 who live in rural areas to shape Nebraska’s future. In creating new ideas through CYN, leaders are able to understand and respect their differences while working towards a unified goal of making Nebraska a great state to live, work and play.

This year the Summit will be held in North Platte, Nebraska on October 25th and 26th. The Summit kicks off with a Thursday evening social including a bbq, laser tag, corn maze and more! On Friday, participants will listen to keynote speaker Peter Shankman, (renowned author, entrepreneur, and worldwide connector), take part in round table discussions on critical issues, and enhance professional, civic and community development skills. Breakfast and lunch will be provided on Friday. Registration for the entire event is $69.00. To learn more about the CYN Summit and to register go to www.cyn.nebraska.edu, twitter.com/youngnebraskans, or facebook.com/youngnebraskans.

The Valley County Community Foundation Fund (VCCFF) believes that we have many local emerging leaders who can offer valuable contributions to the discussions at this CYN Summit. The Fund is offering up to three $100.00 scholarships to young leaders residing in Valley County interested in participating in the CYN Summit.
