DONIPHAN, Neb. – Zak Tripp of Lincoln Southwest won a shootout on Friday to take top individual honors at 16 yards in the senior high school division at the 41st Annual Cornhusker Trapshoot.

Tripp, Print Zutavern of Broken Bow and Chad Medina of Fairbury each scored 100×100. Tripp and Zutavern eliminated Medina, who took third, in the first round. Tripp eliminated second-place Zutavern in the third round. Tripp hit 174 of 175 targets on the day while Zutavern hit 173.

The Cornhusker Trapshoot, held at the Nebraska Trapshooting Association (NTA) home grounds, concludes Saturday with senior high handicap competition and the presentation of the Cornhusker Cup to the overall winner.

Nearly 1,200 shooters from Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri and Colorado are competing in the senior high division.

The Cornhusker Trapshoot is hosted by the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission and the NTA.

Friday’s results in the 16-yard competition are:

(tie) Taylor Ceislik, Oak Creek 4-H, 98×100; Jeremy Denny, Fremont, 98×100; Levi Ochsner, Sutton, 98×100; Jarrod Visek, Karp and Krow 4-H, 98×100; Chase Walter, Lincoln Southwest, 98×100; Austin Zeilinger, Oak Creek 4-H, 98×100.

Top Three Girls – 1. Mikaela Newlun, Hastings 4-H, 99×100; 2. Jacqueline Baude, Papillion/LaVista, 97×100; 3. Kilee Hutchinson, Lakin, Kan., 4-H, 96×100.

Top Three 4-H Teams – 1. Oak Creek 4-H (Garrett Tooker, Tanner Wemhoff, Austin Zeilinger, Mason Petrzilka, Brian Cook), 474×500; 2. Republican Valley 4-H, 465×500; 3. Karp and Krow 4-H, 464×500.

Top Three Girls Teams – 1. Papillion/LaVista (Melissa Harnack, Taylor Holzer, Alyssa Gibbs, Marisa Braddock, Jacqueline Baude), 458×500; 2. Omaha Marion Blue, 412×500; 3. Wilber-Clatonia, 394×100.

Top Three Teams – 1. Papillion/LaVista Titan No. 1 (Matt Bennett, Jonathan Olsen, Ryan Lamb, Mykel Miller, Cody Voris), 478×500; 2. Gibbon No. 1, 471×500; 3. Grand Island Northwest No. 1, 468×500.
