(Ord, NE) – Bill and Nancy French, first place winners of $1000 in Ord Chamber Bucks from the ExtraORDinary Duck Race, held during ExtraORDinary Days, have chosen to donate their winnings to the Ord Township Library.
Kristi Hagstrom, director of the Ord Township Library, expresses her gratitude by stating, “The Ord Township Library is thrilled to receive a $1000 donation from the French’s. A few years ago, the library was fortunate enough to receive funds to put archived Ord Quiz newspapers on disc for patron use. To take it one step further, the board of trustees made it a goal to put those documents on our website. While discussing potential needs for the library and already knowing that they had won the money from the duck race, Nancy approached the library about making the first contribution towards this project with her $1000 winnings. It is community-minded individuals that make Ord thrive and we appreciate patrons like Bill and Nancy who are willing to step up and make things happen. When the Ord Quiz archives are added to the website, it will become a great tool for all those wanting to research Ord history and genealogy.”
