The Sherman County sheriff’s Office investigated a fatality accident six miles north of Loup city on State highway 58 at 5:00 P.M. May 28th. Killed in the accident was 35 year old Nathan R. Shafer of Ravenna. Shafer was northbound on the highway when he drove off onto the west shoulder sliding sideways, striking a concrete culvert and then flipping the SUV onto it’s top. It’s believed he was killed on impact. Seat and shoulder belts were in use and alcohol is believed to have been a factor.
