Paul Maly, 92, of Ord passed away on Sunday, October 11, 2015, at the Valley View Senior Village in Ord. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 16, 2015, at the Ord Memorial Chapel. Pastor Kyle Campise will officiate. Burial will be in the Ord City Cemetery. Develon L. Puckett, 44
Develon Lee Puckett, 44, of Ralston passed away on Monday, October 5, 2015.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, October 12, 2015, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Ord, Nebraska with Father Josh Brown officiating. Inurnment will be in the Ord Catholic Cemetery. Military Honors and Fire and Rescue Honors will be presented at the gravesite. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 6:00 p.m. at the Ord Memorial Chapel. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the Lincoln Fire Fighters Association, 241 Victory Lane, Lincoln, Nebraska 68528. Ord Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Develon Lee was born October 24, 1970, at Grand Island, Nebraska. He lived most of his childhood in Grand Island and graduated from Kearney High School in 1989.
Following graduation, Develon joined the United States Army and served in Desert Storm. After the Army, he moved to Lincoln and received his Fireman-Paramedic degree and training from Southeast Community College.
Develon was employed with the Lincoln Fire and Rescue for the last 15 years and was a member of Station 7 Crew. He carried immense pride working for the LFR and it was there that he formed a deep brotherhood with his co-workers.
Survivors include his mother, Sandra K. “Sandi” Ellis of Grand Island; a brother, Dorian Puckett of Savannah, Georgia; an aunt and uncle, Cheryl and Larry Larkowski of Ord; two cousins and their children, Karla and Jason Ritterbush, Jesse and Jade all of Ord, and Jaci and Cory Kruse, Jordyn and Jenna all of Kearney; his companion, Danielle Fletcher and his step-children, Alicyn and Brendan all of Ralston.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents; Raymond and Minnie Grabowski.

Memorial services for Jacob C. Koch, age 77 of Long Pine will be held on Thursday, October 8, 2015 at 10:30 AM at the Hoch Funeral Home in Ainsworth, Nebraska. Jacob Koch passed away on Friday, October 2, 2015 at the West Holt Memorial Hospital in Atkinson, Nebraska.
Survivors include 7 childrem, Jacob Koch and significant other Evelyn Schaaf of Ord, Lori Hoevet and husband Tom of Ord, Rick Koch and wife Sue of Ord, Michael Koch of Grand Island, Bruce Koch and wife Kim of Ord, Keri Nissen of Hastings, and Kris Koch and wife Mary of Edgar and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Two sisters Judy Baxter of Gordon, Alita Burdick and husband Ben of Johnstown, a half sister Joan Fredericksen and husband Don of Long Pine along with nieces, nephews and other family members.
Shirley M. McCain, 67
Shirley M. McCain, 67, of Ord passed away on Monday, October 5, 2015, at the Valley County Health System Hospital in Ord following a short fight with cancer.
Mrs. McCain’s wishes were to be cremated. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 9, 2015, at the Ord First United Methodist Church. Pastor Scott Hausrath will officiate. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Thursday at the Ord Memorial Chapel. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Ord Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Shirley Marie was born February 28, 1948, to Oldrich and Mildred (Kasper) Hrebec at Ord, Nebraska. She was raised in Ord and graduated from Ord High School in 1966.
On April 16, 1967, Shirley was united in marriage to Willard McCain at Ord, Nebraska. To this union three children were born.
Shirley spent her life helping and caring for others. She was a bartender and cook at many area Bar and Grills and was a Nurse’s Aide in local care homes. She will be most remembered as a clerk at the “L Street Mini Mart” in Ord where she worked for many years.
Shirley enjoyed cooking, sewing and visiting with family and friends. She loved being with her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of the Ord American Legion Auxiliary.
Survivors include her husband, Willard of Ord; a daughter, Kris McCain and her fiancé, Dale Harbison both of Ord; two sons and daughters-in-law, Kylie and Stefanie McCain of Hershey, and Kody and Ruth McCain of Ord; 10 grandchildren; 2 expectant grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and two sisters and brothers-in-law, Marilyn and Alan Bartlett of Florida and JoAnne and Ron Kasselder of Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Chuck Hrebec.
