Sharon K. “Trudy” Murdock, 64 of Ord died Sunday, June 13, 2010, at her home in Ord.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, June 18, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. at the Ord Memorial Chapel with Reverend Doug Olson officiating. Burial will be in the Ord City Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Ord Memorial Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the Activities Department at Valley View Living Center or the Susan B. Coleman Breast Cancer Foundation. Ord Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Sharon Kay was born January 13, 1946, at Ord, Nebraska to Joe M. and Vieva M. (Burson) Fryzek. She was raised on the family farm west of Ord and received her education at District #26 country school and graduated from Ord High School in 1964.
In 1965, Sharon married Carl Jarrell. The couple spent a short time in Michigan and Kentucky. Sharon worked for many years at the Ord Rest Home. She received her CNA and CSM certifications. In 1980, she married Dennis Murdock. Sharon has worked as a medication aide at the Valley County Nursing Home “Valley View Living Center” in Ord since 1989.
Sharon was a breast cancer survivor. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Her hobbies included riding horses, baking kolaches, listening to polka and country music, watching the Animal Planet and Nancy Grace, and going to yard sales. Sharon shared her apron and hanky collection with the residents at the nursing home whom she took great pride in caring for over the years.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Joleen and Dave Parker of Brownsburg, IN; a son, Shawn Murdock of Fremont, NE; one brother, Richard Fryzek of Estes Park, CO; four grandchildren, Justeen, Michael, Ashlee and Ben and a nephew, Craig Fryzek.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Gene Fryzek and nephew, Todd Fryzek.
