Supplies have come from all over the region to supply firefighters and others involved in fighting Wildfires in North Central Nebraska. Kara Coufal visited the fire damaged area North and West of Ainsworth on Monday and also delivered supplies to those who are fighting the fires.
Kara is going to deliver more supplies on Wednesday. Kara tells more in this report to KNLV:

Spoke to Red Cross, Spring view, and Norden they still need: goggles, resperator masks, individual juices, individual tea & lemonade, buns, lunch meat, jerky & salame (they would even take deer) coolers, pop ( they love in the morning since they can’t have red bull or 5 shots) nuts, cheese, Gatorade, paper towels, Kleenex, toilet paper, gallon & sandwich bags, anything else is excepted no water right now they have plenty, so let me know I have drop off spots at pump in north Loup and trotters in ord. I will even pick up. Please call if you have monitary donations or questions as i am heading to GI to pick up supplies at Sam’s. Sunday I dropped off: individual visine drops, chap stick, sun screen, advil, peanut packs, water, Gatorade, nutri grain bars, granola bars, cans of chicken, cans of tuna, LG miracle whip, individual jerkies, cheese, sliced Turkey & ham oranges, apples, bread coolers, toilet paper, and pop. Thank you to everyone who donated money and supplies they truelly appreciate all your help. But the fire is far from out so spread the word and if you can help let me know. Kara 308.219.0304
Caleb Pollard at the Ord Area Chamber of Commerce also sent out this information:
We have a list of requested items from our partners in Ainsworth at the North Central Development Center and I am hoping that you will consider helping with the relief efforts at the Niobrara River Canyon firefight.
NCDC is asking for these supplies for firefighters:
- Yellow bananas (ripe for eating immediately)
- Dried Apricots
- Gatorade/Powerade
- Peanuts
- Granola Bars
- Bug Spray
- Calamine Lotion
- Gum
- Chips
- Soda pop
If you have items you wish to donate, a driver is picking up supplies tomorrow morning at 9AM at the Trotter Whoa and Go in Ord.
Donations of money is much needed and can be made through the North Central Development District. The District has set up a Paypal account. You can find it on their facebook page:

For those not on Facebook, make checks payable to the North Central Development Center, 335 N. Main St., Ainsworth, NE 69210. Write fire relief on the check.
All donations are tax deductible, and 100 percent of the money donated will be used to support the firefighting efforts and support the victims who have lost their homes.
