Jean Marie Daly, 84, of Ericson, Nebraska died August 20, 2012 at the Community Memorial Health Center in Burwell, Nebraska.
Jean’s wishes were to be cremated. There will be a memorial service at 2:00 p.m. on October 1, 2012 at the United Methodist Church in Ericson, Nebraska. Pastor Delano Cunningham will officiate. Memorials are suggested to the Nebraska Humane Society. Hitchcock Funeral Home in Burwell is in charge of arrangements.
Jean was born in Hyannis, Nebraska on April 30, 1928 to Frank and Maude (Comstock) Bassett. She grew up in the Mullen area.
Jean married Clinton Daly on May 12, 1948 at her sister Thelma’s home near Mullen, Nebraska. They lived south of Mullen where Clinton was a rancher. In 1952 they moved to a ranch southwest of Atkinson, Nebraska. Then in 1960 they bought the ranch west of Ericson, Nebraska and moved there in 1961.
Jean worked with Clinton in the hayfield and ag management. She enjoyed gardening, sewing and had a loved for animals.
Jean is survived by her husband, Clinton Daly of Ericson, Nebraska. A daughter, Darlene Daly of Ericson, Nebraska and a sister, Thelma Pearman of Mullen, Nebraska.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Dorothy Potthoff and a brother, Ray Bassett.
