Margaret Phoebe Rasmussen, 93, of Burwell, Nebraska died July 26, 2012 at the Valley County Health Systems Hospital in Ord, Nebraska.
There will be a memorial service at 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 3, 2012 at Hitchcock Funeral Home in Burwell, Nebraska. Pastor Stan Gurney will officiate. Hitchcock Funeral Home in Burwell is in charge of arrangements. Memorials are suggested to the Burwell Veterans Park.
Margaret was born February 19, 1919 in Neptune, Saskatchewan Canada to David Grand and Ettie (Backus) Marshall.
Margaret married Hiram W. Scott on February 22, 1938. They lived on a farm north of Burwell. Margaret enjoyed the farm life. She had pigs, lambs, calves, a garden and regular farm chores. She liked to paint and draw pictures. Hiram died March 22, 1970.
Margaret later married Kenneth L Rasmussen on April 21, 1973 in Ord, Nebraska. They lived in North Loup, Nebraska and then moved to Burwell.
Margaret is survived by her husband Ken Rasmussen of Burwell, Nebraska. Four sons; Orville Scott of North Loup, Nebraska, Jerry Scott and Julie Ellend of Burwell, Nebraska, Dave and Beverly Scott of Bayard, Nebraska and Hiram Scott of Clay Center, Nebraska. Twenty-seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. A brother, George and Ruth Marshall of Montana. Two sisters, Ruth Moore of Garden City, Kansas and Lucille and James Roby of Hastings, Nebraska.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; husband Hiram, a son, Stanley. Six brothers, Walter, Elmer, Fred, Clifford, Vernon and Lester and a sister, Mildred.
