Calvin A. ''Kelly'' Treptow, 86



Calvin (Kelly) Albert Treptow of Comstock, NE died Saturday July 28, 2012, at the Community Memorial Health Center in Burwell.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday at the Ord Memorial Chapel with burial following at Douglas Grove Cemetery in Comstock, NE. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday at the Ord Memorial Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the family. Ord Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Calvin was born in Burwell, NE on July 25, 1926 to Albert and Teresa (Reiter) Treptow. He was the 9th of 10 children in his family. He lived in the Burwell area until his family moved to the Comstock area when he was a freshman in high school. After graduation he helped his father with farming.

He married RaeJean Bossen on April 22, 1951 in Arcadia, NE. They purchased and lived on the Anton Tvrdik place near Comstock for their entire married life of 61 years. Survivors include his wife, and children Gary (Bev) of Alda, Paula (Dale) Heidtbrink of Malcolm, Randy (and fiancée Geri Tanderup) of Comstock and Heidi (and fiancée Ryan Reffert) of Malcolm.

Nine Grandchildren include Josh (Shalane) Treptow, Tyson (Kristin) Ritz, Cortney, Ciara, and Brody Treptow, Dakota and Austin Pitts, Jake and Colby Reffert.

Five Great Grandchildren Wyatt Ritz, Julian Trosper, Aden Wilson, Jayonna Harney, Gracie Treptow.

Calvin served on the District #53 school board in Valley County. He was also member of the NFO (National Farmer’s Organization) and the Ord Elk’s Club. He and his brother Emery ran a custom corn shelling business and trucking business in the early years, while farming, and raising and feeding cattle his whole life.

Also surviving are nephews, Harold (Yvonne) Treptow and Don (Dee) Treptow and cousin, Mary Lou Weverka.

He was preceded in death by parents and 9 siblings including Emery Treptow.
