2013 Burwell Chamber Board of Directors and Staff

The Burwell Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors meet last week for the first time in the new year. Among other business matters, the board addressed a number of board restructuring matters, including the acceptance of the chamber member election results to fill the three open positions on the chamber board and electing new board officers.


The newly elected board members, who will serve three-year terms, include:
  • Chris Bender (Great Western Bank)
  • Sandy Fischer (re-elected, Pizza Palace)
  • Felecia Patrick (All About You Hair Salon)


The board elected the following officers to serve during 2013:
  • President – Jeff Thoene (Thoene Farm Service)
  • Vice President – Chris Bender (Great Western Bank)
  • Treasurer – Kurt Kremke (Town & Country Insurance)
  • Secretary – Valerie Hoevet (Burwell Insurance)
  • Past President – Max Emerton (Pathway Bank)


The balance of the 2013 board of directors includes:
  • Chris Christenson (Spelts Lumber)
  • Carol Small-White
  • Evelyn Pinckney (Spelts Hardware)
  • Cecelia Carson (Student Rep. Burwell Schools)


During the board meeting, the chamber board also expressed appreciation for the three years of service for outgoing board members: Jess Helgoth (Big Red Feeds) and Susan Lee.


The Burwell Chamber of Commerce Board meets at noon on the second Monday of each month at the Great Western Bank conference room, and Chamber members are always welcome to attend.
