Dixie Lee Flock, 59, of Omaha formerly of Ord passed away Wednesday, February 6, 2013, at Bergan Mercy Hospital in Omaha.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 12, 2013, at the Ord Memorial Chapel. Louese, Cary and Casey Nelson will conduct the service. Burial will be in the Ord Bohemian Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the Family. Ord Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Dixie Lee was born November 15, 1953, at Ord, Nebraska to William Jennings Bryan and Freda Louese (Conner) Flock. She spent her childhood on the family farm in Garfield County where she attended Rosevale Country School and graduated from Ord High School in 1972.
Dixie continued her education at the Grand Island school of Beauty. In 1976, she married Wayne Anglemyer I. The couple resided in Aurora. Later Dixie moved to North Loup and married Ron Rice in 1985. Ron and Dixie lived in Ord and she worked as a beautician at her sister Rose’s shop, “Blue Haven”.
In 1996, she moved to Kearney where she continued to work as a beautician. She also received her Medication Aide Certification and worked at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Wood River. For the past ten years Dixie has made her home in Shelton, Wood River and Omaha.
Dixie enjoyed cooking, crocheting and crossword puzzles. Her favorite pastimes were being with her family, grandchildren and her dog, Roger.
Survivors include a son; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Wayne Anglemyer II of Shelton, Christina and Matthew Miscinski of Ralston, Kiiann and Joshua Kjar of Shelton and Jeanie Anglemyer of Omaha; six grandchildren; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Dr. Dean and Phyllis Flock of Laramie, WY and George “Ron” and Kathy Flock of Papillion; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Louese Nelson of Trinidad, CO, Rose and Herm Pokorny of Scotia, and Marlene and Jim Witherwax of Yuma, AZ; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and an infant sister, Mary Lou Flock.
