A storm system is still expected to bring significant snow accumulation to south central Nebraska and north central Kansas Wednesday through Thursday night. Snowfall will begin across the area during the day Wednesday, with the heaviest snowfall then expected Wednesday night and Thursday. Snowfall will then decrease in intensity Thursday evening before coming to an end by late Thursday night. At this time it appears storm total snowfall accumulation of 9-13 inches, with locally higher amounts, will be realized across the area. In addition to the snowfall, a sustained east wind of 20-25 mph, with gusts of 30-35 mph, will also be observed across the area. This wind, working in concert with the falling snow, will likely create visibility restriction in blowing snow. Due to these expected conditions, a Winter Storm Watch has been issued for most of the region. Travel will be difficult, if not impossible, during this storm. Please continue to monitor the forecast for updates on this upcoming winter storm. Stay tuned to Regional Radio KNLV .... We Are Your Official Weather Station.
