Bonnadel June Foster, 90, of Ericson, Nebraska died March 9, 2013 at the Community Memorial Health Center in Burwell, Nebraska.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at the United Methodist Church in Ericson, Nebraska. Burial will be in Pibel Cemetery. Pastor Delano Cunningham will officiate. Visitation will be Monday from 5 – 7 p.m. at Hitchcock Funeral Home in Burwell, Nebraska. Memorials are suggested to the church.
Bonnadel was born in Garfield County, Nebraska to Elmer and Dora (Smith) Hallock. She graduated from Ord High School in 1939. She received her teaching certificate and taught school until she married Joseph Richard “Dick” Foster on June 19, 1947 in Ord, Nebraska. They lived south of Ericson where they ranched together. In 1961 they moved just south of Ericson and continued to ranch. Dick died March 1, 2005.
Bonnadel worked at the Ericson Sale Barn from 1965 until 2011. Bonnadel moved to Ord in August of 2011 and then to Burwell in October of 2011.
Bonnadel was very active in her church where she held many offices, including serving as a UMW district officer for a number of years. She was active in the Nebraska Cattleman’s Association, Wheeler County Farm Bureau, 4H and the American Legion Auxiliary. She embroidered tablecloths for her family, gardened and canned, baked, took the census and remembered birthdays. Bonnadel was a recipient of the Ak-Sar-Ben Good Neighbor Award.
Bonnadel is survived by three daughters; Linda and Steve Senn of Burwell, Nebraska, Marilyn and Mike Winkelbauer of Ord, Nebraska and Dixie and Bob Phillips of Omaha, Nebraska. Six grandchildren, two step grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Bonnadel was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, Melvin, a great-grandson Ty Raszler, and a brother, Eldwin “Dean” Hallack.
