The Big Give to Valley County kicked off this morning at Ord High School in the New Gymnasium with a student sponsored Big Kiss event. Ord public school teachers with the most votes from students kissed two sow piglets raised by Ag teacher Dave Ference's FFA students. Mr Ferences' daughter Vicki helped to present the event. The two teachers chosen by the students were Heather Fox and Carl Streeter. Before the event took place Students Cody Drudik and Megan Alexander presented to checks for the Big Give to Valley county with funds raised from a dance held earlier this month and from the kiss the pig fundraiser to the Loup Valley Ag Society. The other to the Ord Public Schools Foundation.
The Big Give to Valley County is a 24 hour giving day to encourage people from across the country to support organizations in Valley County which strives to make the community a great place to live, work, play and give. Starting at 10am, Thursday, March 21st until 10am, Friday, March 22nd will be donation opportunities around the county to give. 100% of the monies given will be donated to the donors choice of non profit organization of their choice.
How you can donate:
- Donor can contribute online with a credit card, go to www.ordnebraska.com/Give
- Donors can contribute in-person at Giving stations throughout Valley County with a check or cash.
- Donors can mail a check to the organization of their choice. (Postmarked by March 21st)
