Ardith Marie Peterson-Reineke, 62, of Ord, Nebraska formerly of Burwell, Nebraska died at the Valley County Health Systems Hospital in Ord, Nebraska.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, February 2, 2011 at the Burwell Baptist Church. Burial will be in Cottonwood Cemetery. Pastor Scott Harvey will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 -7 p.m. Tuesday at Hitchcock Funeral Home in Burwell. Memorials are suggested to the Community Memorial Health Center or the family.
Ardith was born September 30, 1948 in Alliance, Nebraska to Walter “Jake” and Iris Mae (Van Matre) Prindle. Ardith graduated from Hyannis High School in 1966.
Ardith married Melvin E. Reineke on June 25, 1967 in Hyannis, Nebraska. They moved to Burwell where they farmed and ranched. After Melvin’s death in 1980 Ardith moved to Ericson for seven years. She then moved to North Platte, Nebraska and was in that area until 1998 when she graduated with and LPN degree. Ardith moved back to Burwell and started to work at the Community Memorial Health Center. In 2002 her health forced her to retire.
Ardith was a member of the Burwell Baptist Church. Her passion was reading and she enjoyed crafts.
Ardith is survived by four children; Dana Johnson of Ord, Nebraska; Johnny and Dori Reineke of Burwell, Nebraska; David Reineke of Ericson, Nebraska and Bill and Liza Reineke of Bartlett, Nebraska. Five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Two sisters, Jeanie and John Hicks of Garden City, Kansas and Judy and Bob Petrick of Grand Island, Nebraska.
Ardith was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
