“Vegas” Lodewyck
Dean “Vegas” Lodewyck, 49 of Ord died Tuesday, August 31, 2010 at the Valley County Health System in Ord as a result of an accident while working.
Mr. Lodewyck wishes were to be cremated. A Greeting of family and friends will take place on Thursday, September 9, 2010 at 6:00 p.m. at the home of Rick Estudillo.
Memorials are suggested the American Cancer Society. Ord Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Dean Craig Lodewyck was born February 18, 1961, at Red Hook, New York to Andrew and Jane Lodewyck. At the age of three he moved to Las Vegas, NV. He received his education in Las Vegas and graduated from Chaparral High School in 1979.
Dean served in the United States Army. On September 9, 1999, he was united in marriage to Lynn Huddleston. He worked as a cab driver in Las Vegas until February of 2007 when he moved to Ord, NE. Dean was an apprentice electrician at Rick’s Electric, whom he considered his second family.
Dean enjoyed golfing and skiing. He was an avid football fan and loved the Steelers. He especially enjoyed being “Papa” to his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Lynn Huddleston of Ord; two sons, Nathen and Scotty of Kansas; two daughters, Kristi of Las Vegas and Kati of Ord; a brother, Andy of Las Vegas; a sister, Sherri of Las Vegas; and six grandchildren, who were the light of his life.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
