Elizabeth A. Hoefener, 66 of Ericson died Saturday, July 10, 2010 at the St. Francis Medical Center in Grand Island.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 14, 2010, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Ord with Pastor Terry Makelin officiating. Burial will be in the Ord City Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 6:00-8:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at the Ord Memorial Chapel. Memorials are suggested to Our Savior Lutheran Church of Bartlett. Ord Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Elizabeth Ann was born November 25, 1943, at Plainview, Nebraska to Martin and Dorothy (Gusman) Schultze. She was raised in Plainview where she also received her education, graduating from Plainview High School in 1962.
Following graduation, Elizabeth moved to Omaha to live with her sister while working in a bank. She then returned to Plainview and worked at Plainview National Bank.
On March 19, 1966, Elizabeth was united in marriage to Daryl Hoefener at Plainview, Nebraska. The couple made their home in Omaha while Elizabeth worked at a bank in Bellevue. In 1977, the family moved to Daryl’s farmstead, northeast of Ericson. They made their home on the farm where they raised their three sons and farmed.
Elizabeth was a charter member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Bartlett where she was involved in Ladies Aid and Altar Guild. Elizabeth enjoyed collecting bells and angels and reading.
Survivors include her husband, Daryl of Ericson; three sons and three daughters-in-law, Dallan and Jackie of Pierre, SD, Darek and Wanda of Cozad and Dana and Karen of Louisville; nine grandchildren; and two sisters and two brothers-in-law, Mary and Vernon Hilkemann of Carter Lake, IA and Alyce and Duane Delozier of Beatrice.
She was preceded in death by her parents.






Daryl & Familes, Liz will always be that sweet woman who could make a person feel welcome and warm. She is and always will be an Angel.
