Marta Lou Moyer, 77, of Ord passed away Sunday, December 11, 2011, at the Rose Lane Home in Loup City.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, December 17, 2011, at the Evangelical Free Church in Ord with Dr. Barry Gridley and Pastor Doug Olson officiating. Burial will be in the Ord City Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the Ord Memorial Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the Timberlake Ranch Camp. Ord Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Marta Lou was born November 4, 1934, at Grand Island, Nebraska to Martin L. and Irene W. (Warrick) Hile. Her childhood was spent in Benedict where she received her education and graduated from Benedict High School in 1952.
On September 6, 1953, Marta was united in marriage to Robert Moyer at Benedict. The couple resided in York and North Platte before settling in Ord where they have made their home for 46 years. Marta was a very loving homemaker. She also worked for Dr. McCartney as an optician for 20 years and was involved in Moyer’s Department stores in central Nebraska.
She was a member of the Evangelical Free Church where she was involved in many capacities. Marta was an accomplished artist and belonged to the Artissimos. She also enjoyed cooking, sewing and flowers. Marta and Bob did extensive traveling within the US and abroad. They also belonged to the Good Sam’s Club and enjoyed camping. Marta was a woman of faith, a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Survivors include her husband, Robert of Ord; three sons and a daughter-in-law, Jeffrey of Murrieta, CA, Quintin and Barbie of Chandler, AZ and Paul of Minden; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Pamela and Dr. Barry Gridley of Prineville, OR, Robyn and Larry Koelling of Ord and Becky Moyer of Lincoln; a brother and sister-in-law, Mickey and Julie Hile of Frederick, MD; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Jack Hile and sister, Kathleen Klein.
