Michael “Frog” Joseph Finn 56 of Greeley died Saturday, August 21, 2010 at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha after a short bout with cancer.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, August 27, 2010 at 10:30 am at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Greeley with Father Sid Bruggeman officiating. Mike chose to be cremated, Inurnment will follow the Mass at the Sacred Heart Cemetery. The family will be greeting friends at the church Thursday from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm with a Rosary at 7:00 pm. Memorials may be given to the family’s choice. T. J. Finn and Sons Mortuary are in charge of arrangements.
Michael Joseph Finn was born October 26, 1953 at Spalding to Edward J. “Ted” and Mary Florence (McQuillan) Finn. Mike was raised at Greeley and attended Greeley Sacred Heart School and graduated from Greeley Public High School in 1973. Mike was married to Becky Prickett. Mike worked for Mike Bernt Construction for several years. He later worked at the Gerald Gentleman power plant at Sutherland,NE and then returned to Greeley and worked for Prickett Construction working on the Calamus Dam and canals. In 1997 Mike built and opened Froggers Bar in Greeley and continued until his death.
Mike was a member of the Knight of Columbus; The Sons of the American Legion and was a member of the Greeley town board. Mike enjoyed riding his motorcycle, He loved his Irish heritage and had travelled to Ireland, He also loved spending time with his Grandchildren.
Survivors include two sons and daughter in laws Brandon and Courtney Finn of Omaha and Christopher and Lisa Finn of Monroe, NE and a daughter Danielle Finn of Greeley ; three grandchildren Haylee and Levi Finn of Monroe and Deacon Finn of Omaha. Seven sisters and their husbands Jane and Al Burrows of Sutherland, NE., Mary Ellen and Terry Holmes of Kearney, NE., Ann Finn of Greeley., Mike’s twin sister Margaret and Roger Freeman of Greeley, NE., Maureen Finn of Greeley, NE., Francis and Pete Kerrigan of Greeley, NE. Nella and Ken Bloom of Sutherland, NE.; a brother and his wife John and Ronda Finn of Greeley; a sister in law Ann Finn of Longmont, CO.; numerous nieces and nephews.
Mike was preceded in death by his Parents; a brother Timothy Finn; two infant brothers and an infant sister.
