Raymond C. Bremer, 69, of Ord, Nebraska died Saturday, August 20, 2011 at Valley View Living Center in Ord.
Memorial services will be at 10:30 am Wednesday at First United Methodist Church in Ord. The Reverend Jeff Wulf will officiate. Burial of ashes will be at 2:30 pm Wednesday at Grand Island City Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home is serving the family.
Memorials are suggested to the family’s choice.
Mr. Bremer was born on December 5, 1941 in Boelus, Nebraska to Adolf C. and Irmgard F. (Petersdorf) Bremer. He grew up in Boelus and graduated from Boelus High School in 1960.
Throughout his life he worked for Farwell Irrigation for two years, the Cornhusker Army Ammunition Plant for 13 years, Rapid Freight for four years, Carpenter Paper for five years, and McCain Foods (Ore-Ida) for 16 years.
Raymond enjoyed fishing, traveling, woodworking, gardening, and meeting people.
He is survived by his companion, Jo Felker of Ord, a son, Timothy Ray Bremer and is wife Dee Dee of Grand Island, a daughter Ronda Rae Stillwell of Roanoke, TX, a special nephew, Earl L. Guy of Lincoln four grandchildren, three sisters, Pearl Lemburg of Cairo, Irma Baker of North Platte, and Doris Jean Coggin of Hiram, GA, five nieces, and 12 nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Betty Guy and Augusta Petersen.
