Stanley Elden Key, Sr., 88, of Burwell, Nebraska died November 12, 2010 at the Valley County Health Systems Hospital in Ord, Nebraska.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 16, 2010 at the United Methodist Church in Burwell, Nebraska. Burial will be in Cottonwood Cemetery in Burwell. Rev. Marty Robbins will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 – 7 p.m. Monday at Hitchcock Funeral Home in Burwell. Memorials are suggested to the Methodist Church or the family.
Stan was born August 23, 1922 in Garfield County, Nebraska to Elden and Clara (Wiberg) Key. Stan attended school at West Side School. Stan was always a farmer.
Stan married Dorothy Proskocil on November 14, 1964 in Sargent, Nebraska. They have always farmed and ranched, living on the same place.
Stan was a county commissioner, a member of the Region 26 board and the Mid-Nebraska Individual Services board. He enjoyed bowling, playing cards and was a member of the Elks in Ord, Nebraska.
Stanley is survived by his wife Dorothy Key of Burwell, Nebraska. A son, Stanley, Jr. and his wife Kalynn Key of Burwell, Nebraska. A step-daughter, Sandra Clark of Broomfield, Colorado. Four grandchildren, Skyler and Ashton Key and Erin and Austin Clark.
Stanley was preceded in death by his parents, Elden and Clara Key and a sister, Elsie Key.
