ST. PAUL, Neb. - The Ord Seniors defeated the St. Paul Seniors 11-10 in eight innings. Braden Orent started and went six innings for Ord, giving way to Kirk Christenson in the seventh. Orent gave up six hits, struck out two and walked four. Christenson came on in the seventh and picked up the win, allowing no hits and striking out one.
Ord picked up one run in the second on a walk to Tye Orent, a sacrifice by Jordan Linke and a double by Jacob Zangger. Ord picked up four more in the second on a walk to Michael Shafer, a
sacrifice by Christenson, singles by T. Orent and Linke, a walk to B. Orent and a bases loaded triple by Zangger. Three more were added by Ord in the fifth, as T. Orent was safe on a fielder's choice, a single by Jordan Linke a walk to B. Orent and a single by Spencer Hoevet. Ord tied the game in the seventh on a single by Matt Stachura, a walk to T. Orent, a double by Linke, and a single by Zangger.
Ord scored the winning run in the eighth inning when Shafer was safe on a fielder's choice and came home on the winning RBI by Christenson.
Linke was three for four, with a double, Zangger was three for four, with a double and a triple.
Outstanding defensive plays were turned in by Shafer, T. Orent and Stachura.
