LINCOLN, Neb. - Two boating safety exams will be held in the Panhandle on July 23, according to the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission. These review and exam sessions are only for participants of the home study option of the boating safety course.
These sessions will be in Chadron at noon at the Upper Niobrara White Natural Resources District Office, 430 E. 2nd St., and at 5 p.m. at the Scottsbluff Police Department, 2525 Circle Dr. There is a $10 fee. Participants must register by July 13 to obtain study materials, and they must study and complete the materials to attend the
review and exam session. The home study is an alternative to students who cannot attend the full six-hour course.
Nebraska law requires any motorboat or personal watercraft operator under 18 years of age must complete a boating safety course and be in possession of a course certificate when operating the boat. A person must be at least 14 years of age to operate a motorboat or personal watercraft in Nebraska.
