KEARNEY — It was a defining win for Ord volleyball as it beats previously-undefeated Kearney Catholic, on Thursday, two sets to one (25-20, 26-28, 26-24).
The matchup featured two of the top teams in the C1 point standings. Not only were the Stars unbeaten entering the contest, they had won the last three state championships.
Ord Head Coach Wendy Alexander has her squad using this as a launching point for the rest of the season.
“That was kind of the tenor on the bus last night on the ride home,” she says. “This is great, we enjoy this moment, but we know we can be better.”
“When you play a great team they going to show you want you need to work on, so that kind of where we’re at,” she added. “We just want to keep improving.”
The Chants have seven regular season matches remaining, plus the Louplatte Conference Tournament. The team returns to the court on Saturday for a triangular at Gothenburg.
