ORD — Nearly 100 people showed up to participate in the Valley County Health System Community Foundation’s Neon Color Run in Ord over the weekend.
This was the third time the group had held the event and participants came from local communities to as far away as Lincoln to join in, run and get splashed with colors. Executive Director Keli Gideon says the proceeds help assist future projects.
“The proceeds are going to go to areas of greatest need,” she said. “We don’t have anything that it’s strictly going to this year, we just sort of wait for fund requests to come in and then the board approves those.”
“We also, from our events, we always designate $5,000 to our endowment fund to help grow that and just make sure we have funds for several generations to come.”
Folks could run or walk the route sand awards were given to the top finishers as well as best outfits.
