BURWELL — For nearly three decades, folks have been coming down to the Calamus Reservoir this time of year for pumpkin carving. This past weekend, it happened again.
Folks diced, designed, and displayed hundreds of pumpkins. Lynn Strong helps organize the event. He says it’s not put on to raise more or anyting like that. It’s just..fun.
“A bunch of old people having kid fun,” he says. “A lot of these people are way past ‘Jack-O-Lantern time’.”
“They’re just having a good time, that’ s what it’s all about.”
Strong adds that each year is made possible through some help from Nebraska Game and Parks.
Later that night, each Jack-O-Lantern was set up and shown to illuminate the campsite area.
