ORD — After several months of negotiations, Ord and the Nebraska Public Power District have entered into a new whole sale power contract.
The previous deal was set to expire in 2020, but this new contract will take over in January. The city decided to stick with NPPD because of a good working relationship and the districts policies. NPPD’s product is 42% carbon-free putting the city in good standing should stiffer emission regulations come down in the next couple of decades.
The deal is for 20 years.
