ORD — 2.6 million packages are expected to flow through Nebraska post offices this Christmas season.
That’s a 10.5% increase from a year ago. The Ord Post Office says the busiest day of the mailing year is set for December 21st, when more than 600 pieces of mail are expected to pass through across the nation.
Folks are encouraged to send international and military packages by December 17th, standard mail by the December 15th and priority by December 21st.
Overall, the post office handles about 15 billion pieces of mail between Thanksgiving and New Year’s Eve.
