ORD — The Golden Husk helped break in the final couple of weeks until Christmas with a performance this weekend.
The theater played host to the Valley County Christmas Celebration featuring Lincoln singers Natalie McClure and Tyler Hale along with the 18th Street Singers from Ord High School.
“We’re hear to celebrate Christmas, Valley County style,” Hale says. “Sing a bunch of songs, be a little bit silly and a little bit sacred and enjoy the season from things from the advent all the way up to Christmas day.”
The way the songs were chosen was also unique. Last month, local residents had a chance to vote on what they wanted to hear.
“We had a song list present at the last event and we asked the community to vote for which songs they wanted to hear,” explains producer Becky Boesen. “So everything, but one special preview of a top-secret song is hand selected by people from Valley County and the Ord area.”
This is the second performance held since the official opening of the Golden Husk in November.
