OMAHA — After months of economic decline for Nebraska and other states in this region of the country, predictions say producers can expect more of the same over the next few months.
The economic index for Nebraska’s region of the country dropped to 41.5 in December. It was 43.7 in November.
A score about 50 shows economic growth, while below suggests decline.
Surveyors at Creighton University say current low energy and crop prices are causing the slowdown .
In addition to the low economic index, banker’s confidence index also stood in negative territory. However, the number rose slightly from 38.9 in November to 39.8 in December.
