LINCOLN — The State of Nebraska has had to repay about $20 million to the federal government after an agency’s payment errors.
The group serves the developmentally disabled and mistakenly paid service providers at rates the federal government had not yet approved. In addition, the state will also have to refund about $1 million more that it used for a ward pilot project.
Agency leaders says the issue stems fro a lack of oversight by a previous administration and the issue is being fixed.
