LINCOLN — In light of the U.S. Department of Education accusing some for-profit colleges of fraud and other unethical practices, a group in Nebraska wants the state’s system analyzed.
Nebraska Appleseed says more information is needed to determine whether colleges in the state have the same problems as those in other areas of the country.
The group adds that tuition costs at Nebraska for-profit’s are seven-times higher than that of community colleges and twice as high as the state’s public college and university system.
