BURWELL — As the Christmas season comes to an end, Keep Loup Basin Beautiful wants to help you clean up. The group is collecting non-working Christmas lights to be recycled.
The event has been going on for the better part of a month and Mary Hughes says it’s off to a good start.
“We started December 1st, [but[ we have had some longer than that,” she explains. “Some people like to decorate early so we already have quite a few lights.”
The collection continues until January 10th with drop off locations in about 20 communities. Here’s a list of where to go in each community:
