LINCOLN — Legislation has been introduced in the Nebraska unicameral that would provide tax credits to increase access of early childhood programs.
The idea is to address the state’s youngest kids, specifically those at risk of failing in school.
The bill is called the School Readiness Tax Credit Act and is similar to a package from Louisiana in 2008.
It’s intended to assist families who have problems making ends meet with childcare costs.
